Sydney seniors and their families are invited to navigate retirement with finance guru Noel Whittaker, will have access to one of Australia’s most prominent finance experts free of charge next month when best-selling author Noel Whittaker takes to the stage to talk financing retirement options.
As Sydney’s median house price nudges towards the $1 million mark, Mr Whittaker and retirement finance expert Rachel Lane will discuss options for seniors wanting to stay in the region at a morning tea session, Thursday 16 July at The Novotel Rooty Hill.
“The north-western corridor of Sydney is experiencing rapid population growth and house prices are only going up,” Mr Whittaker said.
“For seniors looking to tap into their most valuable asset – their home – to help fund their retirement while staying local, the different options can be difficult to navigate.
“While downsizing to an apartment might not suit everyone, and purchasing a smaller home would still attract substantial stamp duty costs, many people are looking for new options that deliver the biggest bang for their hard-earned buck.
“One such option is lifestyle parks – or manufactured housing estates – however many people don’t know much about how that option differs from traditional retirement villages, the concessional benefits involved and the quality of homes being offered by providers like Active Lifestyle Estates across the region.
“Since buyers purchase a brand new manufactured home and lease, rather than own the land, there are no entry fees, and no stamp duty.
“Essentially this model allows retirees to sell the family home and downsize to an affordable, self-contained manufactured home, while leaving a solid nest egg of retirement funds.”
RSVPs for the morning tea are essential and can be made via Rachel Pullicino on 0459 995 919.
